Setting up automatic crypto (MetaMask) renewal payments ♻️
The big hold-up for a while in the subscription-based business was the fact that cryptocurrency auto renewals were not possible. With Whop, that has now changed.
Why sell subscriptions using crypto?
- Reduce reliance on standard banks or card issuers.
- Help retain user anonymity and privacy.
- Accept payments globally with little to no restrictions or limitations.
Auto renewal crypto payments are powered by Wrapped Ethereum (wETH).
Use cases:
- Renewal access to a Discord server.
- Renewal access to gated software.
- Renewal access to gated content (on notion.so).
- Renewal access to physical care packages.
- Renewal access to ANYTHING!
Anything you would sell in the form of a fiat-based subscription, you can now sell with wETH. You can also use this for one-time crypto payments as well. It’s up to you to decide 😉
How it works:
- Sign up for an account on business.whop.com.
- Complete the business onboarding process (only takes a few minutes).
- Go to your settings here, and save the ERC20 wallet address you’d like all renewal payments sent to.
- Create your first product here. You can set the pricing, Discord roles (if applicable), and other options on this page.
- Enable the “Show product on page” toggle to make your product publicly visible.
- You’re done! You can start sending your link around to friends and followers to purchase.
