Bored Ape YC Server Hacked
Early Friday morning the Bored Ape Yacht Club servers were compromised by a phishing scheme. The attackers tricked users into clicking a fake NFT minting link that drained their wallet and sent funds to a third party. According to Etherscan, at least one Mutant Ape was stolen and then quickly sold by the hacker’s wallet address. The server has since been secured and the compromised webhook URL removed.
OpenSea Solana NFT Listing
On Tuesday, OpenSea tweeted that they would be supporting Solana NFT buying and selling starting sometime in April. The news comes in the wake of stiff competition from NFT marketplace rival LooksRare, which currently has 52.4% market share based on trading volume. LooksRare has facilitated $21.3 billion in trading volume since the beginning of the year, compared to OpenSea’s $12 billion.
E3 2022 Canceled
The famous gaming conference, which is held every June, has been canceled this year. Amid concerns over the pandemic, the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) decided to postpone the next event to 2023. The association intends to use this time off to reimagine the purpose and structure of the conference.
PS Plus Overhaul
The PS Plus subscription has been a fan favorite since its inception in 2010. In an attempt to compete with Microsoft’s game pass offerings, Sony will revamp its offering with three new tiers–PS Plus Essential, PS Plus Extra, and PS Plus Premium. Each tier has a different set of perks and benefits, with the most expensive offering a catalog of over 700 PS4 and PS5 games.
Waymo Expands To SFO
Google’s self-driving car company is rolling out completely autonomous vehicles in the San Francisco bay area. Members of Google’s “Trusted Tester” program will be able to hail cars with no human drivers using the Waymo app. As the service scales , the general public will soon be able to access Waymo’s services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
